I was born in the Philippines but raised in Hawaii. My mother is from the Philippines and father from New York, dad was in the Navy. My family got stationed in Hawaii when I was two years of age; me and mom stayed here on the island of Oahu while my father did all the traveling for work.
Since I could remember, I have always been very active. Dancing from the age of 3; ballet, tap, jazz and then competitive gymnastics. At the age of 12 I had a bad accident during gymnastic practice which lead to an ACL and meniscus repair of my right knee, this lead to the end of dancing and gymnastics for the time.
High school came along and I got interested in joining a sport, so I joined wrestling. My freshman year I wrestled for my high school, I loved it! The structure, the training, the one on one challenge on the mat was amazing! I wrestled until my junior year, then decided to go back to dancing because I knew I did not want to wrestle in college.
I got a full scholarship in dance at Hawaii Pacific University where I studied Business, then I transferred to AIU located in Los Angeles where I earned my B.A. in Business and Advertising. I lived in LA for about 2 years then moved to San Diego.
In 2005, I had my son Nathyn Alvaro and decided to move back to Hawaii before my son was one year old as a single mother. I worked very hard as a single mother trying and still trying to make ends meet. I then decided to go back to school to earn my Physical Therapist Assistant Degree from KCC in Hawaii. After I graduated and became licensed, I worked in an Orthopedic clinic for 2 1/2 years.
Besides managing my son’s chedule, and working full time at the clinics, I was training for competitions and training clients part time for extra income. It all started to become too much and I found myself spending less time with my son. He is my world and I had to remind myself that I could always find work but the time with my son I will never get back; things needded to shift in my life, so I shifted. I made the decision to solely focus on growing my brand “VixenFit.” VixenFit is my Personal Training and workout/street wear Legging company.
Presently, I am continuously working to grow my brand VixenFit, spending time with my son, inspiring females all around the world, training like a beast in the gym, representing Sexy-Strong to the best of my ability and competing as an IFBB Bikini Pro.
I am a very passionate and loyal person; friendship, trust, patience and understanding I believe should be cherished and not taken advantage of. I will always be a mother first but will not feel guilty for believing that I can be a mother and still achieve, not just strive, but achieve my goals in life. I never feel like I need to impress anyone, just inspire!
My name is Jacquelyn Susan Geringer and now you know a little more about me 🙂
